Wanda Lindsay

March 19, 1960 — July 19, 2018

Wanda L. "Wanda Lou" Lindsay, 58, of Telford, previously of Quakertown and Perkasie, passed away on Thursday July 19, 2018. Born in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late Joy Lindsay. Wanda graduated from Quakertown High School in 1979 and took some courses at Bucks County Community College, Perkasie. She was a food preparation server, working at Grand View Hospital for 4 years, Rockhill Mennonite Community for 7 years and Apple Café. She attended Perkasie Mennonite Church. Wanda was very well known for her great spirit and all the volunteering and help she did in and around the community. She was a past board member at Employment Technology Institute, was on the Advisory Board for Bucks County Mental Health Mental Retardation, one of the Board Directors at Penn Foundation Housing Task Force, member of the National Alliance of Mental Illness, former member of Pennridge FISH and volunteered at the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes in Souderton. Wanda was a big advocate for mental health and illness. She created a program known as "Together We Strive", to share and encourage people how they could assist those mentally challenged. She was asked to speak at many venues including places such as churches, schools, colleges, groups, etc. She loved to talk with people and check up on them with telephone calls. Wanda was a firm believer and on fire for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ until the very day He called her home and she lived her life as a shining example of His love. Surviving is her brothers: Dale "Michael" Lindsay, wife Jeanette "Tink" of Sellersville & Shawn Lindsay, girlfriend Christina Smith of Telford, nieces & nephews: Jamie, Tanner & Tara, great nieces & nephews: Blake & Charlotte. Come to a celebration of Wanda Lindsay's Life, held 11:00 AM, Tuesday July 31, 2018 at Perkasie Mennonite Church, 320 W Chestnut Street, Perkasie PA 18944 with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be in Quakertown Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to 88.9Word FM, PO Box 17, Harleysville PA 19438, Penn Foundation, 807 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville PA 18960 or Perkasie Mennonite Church.
