Allan adored his many (17) fun loving nephews and nieces. He was also survived by his children Cole and Devan Massey Thomas. Allan was proud of his hometown roots and proud to be a Ridley Green Raider. A graduate of the Ridley High School, class of 1973, Allan served as the senior class Vice President. He was a 3yr letterman in both baseball and football and captained both programs his senior year. The Ridley Township Business Assoc. awarded Allan the 1st ever Phil Marion Memorial Scholarship. Allan's most cherished high school rewards were the 50 plus years of special friendships he cultivated with a group of guys that he still loved dearly to this day. The family would like to send a special thank you to the Green Raider 73 Gang!! During the most recent years, as the demons of CTE and dementia haunted your fun-loving friend - you always stayed in touch and found time for Allan. Jerry Hopper, Joe Costello, Tom Wittig, Marc Levin and the rest of the gang: may the Lord always look over your shoulders the way you looked over our brother. Allan went on to obtain a business degree from Shippensburg University. His fiery competitiveness and dogged determination drove him to become a very successful salesman in the high stress technologies market. In companies like Burroughs Corporation, Hewlett Packard, AT&T Paradyne, Network Access Solutions Allan excelled. As a member of the Mayor's Private Sector Task Force - Allan received a Citation from then Philadelphia Mayor Edward Rendell for "outstanding service, loyalty and commitment to the municipal government and its citizens." Later, Allan became a partner in the Diamond Imaging Company. But his true loves lied outside of the anxiety of the business world. It was the thrill of the baseball diamond that held his heart! For years It was coaching the many grateful neighborhood children at the local Audubon ARA program that brought happiness to Allan... Soon he found true contentment following in his father's footsteps and umpiring 100's of baseball games. He successfully completed the infamous Harry Wendelstedt School for Umpires in Florida. His love for baseball and its rules was only outshone by his love for the people around the game. They made him smile!
