Bernardine F Seiger, also known as Bernie, Grandma Bernie, Aunt Bernie, and One Beer Bernie passed away on March 29, 2022, surrounded by her family at her residence in Lakeville PA.  She was 95 years old.

She was born and raised in Plymouth PA along with her brother Eddie and sister Winnie.  Her parents were Frank and Nellie Kupstas.  After high school and attending the Warton School of Business, she met and fell in love with George J Seiger, an Army veteran.  There’s was a true love. They moved to Levittown PA at the time the town was just being built.  She and George had three children: Renee, Stephen, and Patti.  They shared many great years together and even saved up enough to have a cabin built at Lake Wallenpaupack in the Sandy Shore development where they enjoyed going out to country western bars and dancing the night away with their many friends.  But, like her name denotes, George had to keep an eye on her after one beer.

Bernie was employed by Fidelity Bank in Bristol PA, and she was very proud to say she worked alongside Harry Danner, Blythe Danner's father.  She also worked at Pomeroy's department store and ended her career as a bookkeeper at Bristol Township School District.

When George passed away in 1980, Bernie joined the TLA (To Live Again) group where she met many great people and had fun traveling to Branson Missouri, the Bahamas, Aruba, Mexico, and Hawaii.

Bernie moved to Ferndale PA in 1988 when her youngest daughter Patti attended Delaware Valley College.  Bernie still had a lot of pep, so she attended adult classes at DelVal, learning all about Opera music.  She and Patti enjoyed many good church rummage sales during this time.

Next, she moved to Quakertown PA.  She loved going out to breakfast each weekend with her daughter Patti and son in law Rob.  Cheese omelet, home fries with onions, a hot cup of coffee, and something chocolate would do. Bernie loved her grandkids, and wanted to know every detail of their lives. They brought her so much joy.

In 2020, it was back to the cabin that she and George had built at Lake Wallenpaupack to live out the rest of her years, enjoying the deer and many birds on the Lido deck with her daughter Renee and son in law Tom.

Bernie enjoyed Sewing, Shopping, Dancing, Country Music (Willie Nelson and Engelbert Humperdinck were her favorites), Polka Music, the Lawrence Welk show, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the Sopranos.  Bernie loved to read as well, especially Herman Neville and Iris Johansen novels, Water for Elephants, and the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

Surviving is her daughters Renee B. Lloyd and Patricia Stets, sons-in-law Thomas Lloyd and Robert F Stets, grandchildren Shawn Stets, Eric Lloyd, Dennis Lloyd, and Brian Lloyd, sister Winnie Scalzitti, nephews Tony Scalzitti, Dino Scalzitti, Gino Scalzitti, and niece Sonia Hurley.  Her family will miss her dearly. She was quite a strong sweet soul. They are grateful for all of her advice, her laugh, and her beautiful blue eyes.

She was predeceased by son Stephen Seiger, brother Edward Kupstas, and granddaughter Christina Lloyd.

Her advice for anyone wanting to live a full life would be to laugh, have fun, and love your family.  Don’t take life too seriously.  Oh, and put some curl in your hair and wear some lipstick.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, April 8, 2022, at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown PA 18951.  Interment will be held at Newtown PA Cemetery.
