Carol Sue (Brennan) King, 78, of Quakertown, PA, a devoted follower of Christ, passed away on December 22, 2025 after a brief, intense battle with cancer.
Carol was born on March 14, 1947 to Robert Brennan and Elizabeth Hay Brennan in Towanda, PA. Carol graduated from the Towanda Area High School in 1964 and later earned her bachelor's degree in journalism and master's degree in creative writing.
Carol married her high school sweetheart James King in 1965, and the couple had three children: Beth Ann, Amy, and Jim.
After attending language school in France, Jim and Carol served as missionaries in Chad, Africa. It was there she began formally teaching, a career she followed for the remainder of her professional life.
Back in the States, Carol taught at Ross Corners Christian Academy, before taking a position as Dean of Women and English professor at Davis College and, subsequently, at Baptist Bible College, where she worked until her retirement.
Carol also wrote for a number of magazines and other publications, including two books of poetry, and most recently, a manuscript about her family's Irish immigrant story.
Carol was predeceased by her mother and father, and her siblings Tom, Peggy, Susan, and Bobby. She is survived by her husband Jim; three children Beth Ann Williams (John), Amy Logsdon (Tom), and Jim King (Jessica); grandchildren Jack and Connor Williams; Jesse (Aedyn) and Chad (Mary) Logsdon; Ametheny Crawford (Austin), Jim (Sarah), Austin (Nichole), Tom, and Adrienne King; great-grandchildren Kelly, Bailey, Calvin, Cillian, and Oliver; and, many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be held from 9:00am to 10:50am, a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00am, the committal at 12:00pm, and a luncheon to follow at 12:30pm, on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Swamp Mennonite Church, 2125 Rosedale Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951.
