Catalina T. Hovind, 88, of Hellertown & Coopersburg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at home on May 25, 2026. She was born in Bethlehem on December 22, 1937 to the late Epigmenio DeLeon and Rosa (Jimenez) DeLeon. Catalina was the loving wife of Leslie Hovind, they celebrated 66 years of marriage on May 14, 2026. Catalina was very full of life and had a smile for everyone. Her energy was boundless and she will be remembered by many as looking and acting younger than her years. Catalina kept her camera at the ready, taking photos of family gatherings & events, classmate luncheons and places that she visited. She loved being social and keeping in touch with distant relatives and friends through FaceBook. But her children & grandchildren were her pride and joy, holding the most coveted place in her heart. Catalina loved dancing, reading (especially autobiographies), watching movies, and keeping abreast of British royalty. She was a dedicated working mom who had a fulfilling career across multiple companies that included Bethlehem Steel, Kraft Foods, Sears, General Electric, Mack Trucks, USPS and Bell & Howell.

Catalina is survived by her husband Leslie; children Lawrence Hovind (Lisa), Theresa Hovind, and Thomas Hovind (Katelyn); grandchildren Lawson, Luke, and John "Jack" Hovind; brother Emilio DeLeon (Maryann); and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents; son Lancelot Hovind; and siblings Juliana Alonzo, Mary Frances Buttillo, and Felix DeLeon.

Catalina will be privately laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Limeport.
