Charlene Cassel

Charlene S. Cassel, 87, formerly of Coopersburg, died on January 6, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. Her family gathered around her for prayer, singing and encouragement. Charlene was born in Duluth, MN, on May 28, 1930 to the late Laurs and Olivia (Solberg) Sorensen and was graduated from Denfeld High School, Duluth and Wheaton College, IL. She served as a teacher and as the faithful wife of Pastor Carl C. Cassel. They enjoyed more than 64 years of life together in the Lehigh Valley moving from Coopersburg to Fellowship Community, Whitehall in 2015. Charlene is a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Coopersburg, where she served in many ways. Survivors: She is survived by her husband who along with three sons enjoyed, appreciated and benefitted from her positive life. Sons David Cassel of Arlington, TX; Stephen Cassel and wife, Kathy of Coopersburg with grandchildren Hannah, Jacob, Elizabeth (Ellie); Nathan Cassel and wife, Susan of Wheaton, IL with grandchildren Karl, Olivia, Britta, Lars. Charlene is also survived by a brother, Sheldon Sorensen and wife Agnes of Minneapolis, MN Services: Memorial service will be held at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 6782 N Main St, Coopersburg, at 7:00pm on Friday, January 12, 2018. Calling hours from 5:00-6:30pm at the church. Private interment. Arrangements by Naugle Funeral Service, Quakertown, PA.
