Charles Cressman

Charles George Cressman, age 72, died Wed. May 27, 2020, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Florida. Born Nov. 15, 1947 in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Howard and Irma (Amey) Cressman, and the husband of Linda (Zylstra) Cressman. Charles was involved for many years with the PA State Dart Tournament. In 2009 he was inducted into the PA State Dart Tournament "Wall of Fame". He played from the 70's through 2019 in various leagues including BucksMont, BerksMont, Lehigh Valley and Bethlehem City Dart Leagues. He was a very accomplished American and English Dart player, traveling all over the US and the world. Charles also loved racing. Beginning in the 80's he traveled to many area dirt tracks, then on to Nascar. He and Linda travelled all over the country to Nascar races, later volunteering with Motor Racing Network on the Nascar Circuit. They made many longtime friends along the way. Charles worked as an owner/operator with his family at Cress Gas Company that was started by his parents. Upon his retirement he and Linda started traveling to Florida. They enjoyed their time in the Florida Sunshine. Fishing, going to concerts, and games. They also enjoyed having their family visit. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by: brother Walter Cressman (wife Sandra); nephews Michael (wife Staci), David (wife Sherri), Daniel (wife Maurine), and Mark (wife Jennifer) Cressman; nieces Christina Talarico (husband Frank), Stephanie Salanik, and Catherine Jurcevich (husband George); great-nephews Christopher and Matthew Cressman, and Robert Salanik; great-nieces Tiffany and Nicole Cressman, Elizabeth and Sophia Talarico, and Lauren Lee; sister-in-law Carol Cressman; and brother-in-law John Zylstra (wife Debra). In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: brother Robert Cressman. Charles also loved his "kids", parrots Angel and Pedro. Services will be private and at the discretion of the family.
