David Johnathon Hudack

David Johnathon Hudack, 71, of Oreland, PA, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in West Rockhill, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Christabel M. (Warne) Hudack.

David graduated from Pennridge High School in 1973 before pursuing his passion for science at Montgomery County Community College, where he earned his degree in Chemical Engineering. He went on to build a fulfilling, lifelong career as a chemist at Johnson & Johnson, where he remained until his retirement.

An avid outdoorsman, David spent much of his free time in the wilderness. His passion for hunting and fishing began early in life, and he was happiest when behind a scope tracking a big buck or working in the woods alongside his beloved first dog, Brandie, hunting for birds. David was also an accomplished competitive shooter and shared his expertise by serving as a weapons instructor for the Philadelphia Police Department. Later in life, he maintained his active interests as a member of the NRA and the Harley Owners Group (HOG), and he gave back to his local neighborhood by serving as HOA President for several years.

Above all else, David treasured his family. He held a deeply special place in his heart for his wife, Lorelei, with whom he shared many wonderful years of love and devotion.

David will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Lorelei; his son, David Engle, and his wife Michelle; his stepson, Edward Garlock, and his wife Megan; and his six cherished grandchildren: Kayleigh, Corbin, Hayden, Braxton, Cadence, and Bailey.
