It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Elizabeth Fetz on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Born on January 27, 1964, in Plainfield, New Jersey, she built a life defined by strength, resilience, and love for her family.
Determined and hardworking, Diane put herself through East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, earning a degree in Computer Science. While there, she proudly played college volleyball – an accomplishment that captured both her work ethic and her competitive spirit. She went on to forge a meaningful career in information technology and applications management, a journey that carried her as far as Virginia before eventually bringing her back to Pennsylvania and closer to her family and friends. Wherever life took her, her beloved dogs, Cody and Roxy, were by her side, filling her home with love and laughter.
Diane had a big heart and an open home – always ready to host a pool party, yet just as quick to offer a place to stay for anyone in need. She brought people together with her famous strawberry shortcake and stuffed cabbage, recipes she learned from Grandma Esterhoy and insisted on perfecting to carry on the tradition. She also created special traditions throughout the years, like hosting Christmas crafts with her sister Kathy and their nieces and nephews. She especially loved making her home a favorite destination for the children in her life, filled with her impressive Beanie Baby collection, elaborate train tracks, and the basement air hockey table. Some of her most treasured moments were the quieter ones: tending to her garden, watching tennis or working on puzzles with her late mother, Theresa, or spending a rainy summer afternoon playing pinochle with her Yaya. These moments of joy, competition, and togetherness were at the heart of Diane’s life and the memories she gave to those she loved most.
Throughout Diane's lifetime, her artistic abilities were on display, ranging from photography, painting, and drawings. The most notorious was her patio painting portraying a sunset scene for her brother's Hawaiian party.
Even as illness changed the course of her life, Diane faced it with the same toughness and determination that had always defined her. She poured her energy into new passions like crocheting thoughtful gifts and challenging her sisters to marathon games of Mexican dominoes late into the night, continuing to live fully and on her own terms. Her sharp mind, quick wit, fierce independence, and endless generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the life she built will never be forgotten.
She is predeceased by her mother, Theresa Fetz and her nephew Christopher Brennan.
She is survived by her loving family; father, George Fetz of Souderton, PA; sisters, Lisa Fetz of Toms River, NJ; Karen DeSantis (Donald) also of Toms River, NJ; Katherine Brennan of Quakertown, PA; Pamela Pollock (Frank) of Souderton, PA; brothers, George Fetz of Matawan, NJ; David Fetz (Rachel Moore) of Brick, NJ; nieces, Nicole Brennan, Juliann Fetz, Olive Fetz, Kaya Fetz; nephews, Patrick Brennan (Alex DeGennaro), Kyle Fetz, Frank Pollock III, Luke Pollock, Zachary Pollock, and Brett Pollock, great-nephews, Cole Brennan, Gray Brennan.
