Donna M. Hassinger of Quakertown, PA and formerly of Souderton, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, August 22, 2026 at her daughter's home where she resided for the past four years. Donna’s children were with her when she took her last breath, and the days prior her family surrounded Donna with love and laughter.
Daughter of the late Everett C. Lambert and the late Mary C. Lambert (nee Glatfelter), Donna was 88 years old and was born July 17, 1938 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Donna was a 1956 graduate of Cheltenham High School where she played field hockey, basketball, and softball. She was known for smashing balls over the fence, and her beautiful blue eyes. She married her high school sweetheart in 1958. Donna had been a member of Old York Road Country Club in Ambler, PA since 1963. An avid golfer and bowler, Donna enjoyed spending many Saturdays going to the movies or out to dinner while enjoying a Black Russian. She loved the music of Elvis Presley, whom she saw in concert.
Donna was a huge supporter and visible fixture at her children's sporting events, rarely missing a game, which carried over to watching and cheering her grandsons and great-grandsons youth sports teams. Donna enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, NJ for many decades and spent many Aprils in Hilton Head Island with her daughter, watching the PGA tour.
Donna’s greatest love was her family and they were the light of her life. She never missed her four great-grandsons birthday parties and her grand daughters dance recitals, but she never wanted a party for herself. Always ready for conversation and a good laugh, she carried a joyful presence wherever she went.
Donna was the loving mother of her son, Douglas Hassinger and his wife Amy, and her daughter, Deborah Gaffney; dearest grandmother of Todd Gaffney and his wife Erin, Kyle Gaffney and his wife Courtney, Jenna Hassinger and her husband Sasha; dearest great-grandmother of Declan, Seamus, Brennan and Rory Gaffney and Henrietta Hassinger-Spassoff. Donna is survived by her sister, Cherre Thomas and her husband Frank, and their daughter Cat Thomas-Long.
The family would like to thank all the Nurses, Doctors and Specialists at St Luke's Hospital and St Luke's Hospice for their care and wonderful support of Donna.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life for Donna at a later date.
