Douglas K. Chapman, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2026, at the age of 64.
Born at Quakertown Hospital, Doug was the son of Marlene Chapman and the late Melvin Chapman. He graduated from Quakertown High School in 1979 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1979 to 1986.
Doug was a devoted son, father, grandfather, and friend. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, he generously volunteered his time coaching youth football, baseball, and wrestling, helping to shape the lives of countless young athletes in the community.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan, a loyal supporter of the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Phillies, and a dedicated member of both the North Penn Gun Club and the Mumbauersville Gun Club. He also belonged to a variety of dart clubs. Doug’s favorite thing to do was play darts at Casey’s Place, listen to some good music with a good beverage, and pal around with his best friend Kevin Wolfinger.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Chapman, his sister, Kathleen Wolke, and his brother Bruce Chapman.
He is survived by his loving partner, Lizanne Basile; his mother, Marlene Chapman; his brother, Gregory (Amanda Chapman); and his five children, Patricia (David Berk), Brian (Samantha Chapman), Jordan Chapman, Jeffrey (Shawna Chapman), and Joshua (Brittanie) Chapman). He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
