Earl R. Derstine, 59, of Quakertown, PA., died Wed., Jan. 20 in Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's. He was the husband Theresa M. (Litzenberger) Derstine. Born in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Isaac and Kathryn (Derstine) Derstine. He was a graduate of Pennridge High School, class of 1968. For over 30 years he has worked for the Milford Township Sewer Authority as the plant manager. Earl loved life and enjoyed helping others. He was an active volunteer with the Miflord Twp. Fire Co. having served as secretary and on the board of trustees. In 2006 he was recognized as fireman of the year. He had volunteered with the former Milford Twp. Ambulance Corp. Earl enjoyed working with youth. He volunteered at East Swamp Church both with church projects and the youth programs. In 2000, Earl accompanied a mission group from East Swamp to the Sand Blast Islands off the coast of Panama to aid the Kuna indians. Traveling was also an enjoyable past-time. Surviving: wife; daughters, Rhonda (Bill) Fell, Churchville; Melissa (Toni) Adamkovic; Shana Derstine all of E. Greenville; Linda (Joe) Grocholski, Quakertown; Jenna Derstine, Irvington, NJ; step-son, Jason (Megan) Atkins, Kintnersville; step-daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Atkins, Quakertown; grandchildren, Mikey, Vance, Trauger, Sara, Anthony, Liam, Kenya; step-grandson, Brady; sisters, Jean (Don) Kelly, Quakertown, Alice Menstemacher, Watsonville, CA Services will be held 11:00 am Tues, Jan. 26 in the Jeffrey A.
