Fredrick “Fred” Carl Talarico, 82, of Quakertown, PA, died on September 29, 2026 in Hellertown, PA. Born in Old Forge, PA, Fred was the son of the late Caesar Talarico and the late Ada (Merli) Talarico.
Fred was a proud graduate of Old Forge High School, class of 1963. After High School, he served in the US Navy as a Yeoman. Fred continued to serve the public after graduating from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1968. After retiring from the State Police, he eventually became a clerk with the US Postal Service. During his time with the USPS, Fred’s gift for gab was able to shine. He was the clerk who you wished would “speed it up” because you’re in a hurry, but you were happy to chat with for a few minutes when it was your turn.
Fred had many passions, including offshore fishing, gardening and cooking. Anyone that knew Fred knew he had either just gone fishing or was planning his next trip. He was always looking for others to join in his adventures and if you were lucky enough, you said yes, then you had a great day making new friends and catching fish. Above all else, Fred loved his family deeply and cherished the time spent with them.
Fred will be dearly missed by his children, Frank (Christina) and Chris (Gina); his grandchildren, Elizabeth & Sophia. His sister, Angela (Mike) Guarneiri, and twin brother Joe. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Lynda.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fred’s name to the VFW.
