Listen to Obituary

Glenn Leroy Thompson (also known as Pappy to his loved ones), 79, of Quakertown, PA, unexpectedly passed on May 18, 2026. Born in Elizabethtown, PA, Glenn was the son of the late Harry Thompson and the late Lizzie (Emenheiser) Thompson.

Glenn attended Elizabethtown High School and graduated in 1964. After High School, he became a sewing machine mechanic, which led Glenn to opening a family sewing business, Thompson Sportswear which specialized in American Flags, Band Guard Flags, and street banners.

His passion for life extended well beyond his professional endeavors. In his free time, Glenn enjoyed golf, hunting, coaching youth soccer, Little League, Connie Mack baseball, as well as a good scratch off lottery ticket, which he had an uncanny ability to usually win.

He was happiest when he was with his family and friends at the Thompson Farm which they had for a decade.

He always had a special place in his heart for his beloved pets, especially his St. Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Mia.

Above all else, he loved his family deeply and cherished the time he spent with them.

Glenn will be dearly missed by his wife, Christine, together they shared 55 loving years of marriage; his daughter Melinda Negley (Merrill), Brian Thompson (Nicole); his grandchildren, Kristin Hollander, Noah Thompson, McKenna Thompson, Jamie Barsby-Rowe (Brady), great grandchildren, Beckham and Crew, and his sibling Paul Thompson. Glenn is also predeceased by 11 siblings. He was the youngest of all his brothers and sisters.

All arrangements are made by Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, Ltd. 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951. (215-536-3343)
