Glenna Austin

September 23, 1930 — March 27, 2020

Glenna Mae (Nace) Austin of Quakertown, passed away March 27, 2020 at Phoebe Richland in Richlandtown after suffering from dementia for several years. Glenna was the wife of the late Curtis L. Austin Sr. Born in Trumbauersville, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Florence (Meng) Nace. Glenna loved spending as much time as possible with her family and any additional time outdoors in her gardens. If asked, she would joyfully tell you of her life and family in Trumbauersville. Glenna worked at the former Eagle Shirt Factory in Quakertown, then began caring for children in her home, which she often said was her favorite job. Eventually, she became a bus aide for children with special needs for the Levy School Bus Company in Trumbauersville. Glenna was a very active member of the First Church of the Brethren in Quakertown. She especially enjoyed helping with the church's food pantry. She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Betsy) Austin and Curtis (Karen) Austin Jr and a daughter Cheryl Lanteigne. She adored her grandchildren, Christopher Austin (Lauren), Clinton Austin (Shannon), Joshua Austin, Kenneth McIlvaine, Maleana McIlvaine and Joseph Lanteigne. Glenna also had two great grandchildren Merrick and Maisy. Along with her husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Ruth Dietz and 4 brothers, Marvin, Orvis, Elmer and Willis. Graveside services will be held privately. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Glenna Austin Fund, First Church of the Brethren, 455 Trumbauersville Road, Quakertown, PA 18951.
