James Bologna

July 18, 1953 — February 27, 2021

James J Bologna, age 67, of Bedminster, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021. He was the husband of Barbara Lachimia-Bologna, with whom he shared 5 years of blissful marriage. Born in Huntington Station, NY, he was a son of the late Joseph Bologna and the late Eileen Kelly Bologna. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael, formerly of Lakewood, NJ. James studied special education at Kean University. He was an upkeep technician for Owens Brockway Glass Company in Freehold, NJ for 18 years. There, James worked diligently on behalf of his co-workers, serving as a shop steward for the AFL-CIO Union. James, known by many as Jim or Jimmy, was the ultimate baseball enthusiast. A true statistician, there wasn't a stat he couldn't cite, especially when it came to his beloved Yankees team. When it came to football, he was a long-standing Jets fan, regardless of their record status. However, he quickly adjusted to his life with Barbara in Bucks County, PA, and (for better or worse) became an Eagles fan. Jim truly had a zest for life and the most infectious laughter. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, gardening, cooking, birding, and spending time with his loved ones. On a perfect day, you could find him out on the ocean fishing, eager to return home and cook a delicious late-night dinner for his family. A man of deep faith, Jim was a beloved member of his church community. He used his culinary gifts to serve the Lord by cooking for those in need at a local food kitchen and providing food through his Church's Meal Train initiatives for members experiencing difficult times. In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by his four children, Michael Bologna and late wife Leah of Jacksonville, NC, Carla Hendrickson and her husband Sam of Cream Ridge, NJ, Jason Bologna and his wife Ofelia of Tacoma WA, and Joseph Bologna and his wife Cristina of Brick, NJ; one brother, Phillip Bologna and his wife Cassandra of Maple Grove, MN; one sister, Marie Weingart and her husband Joseph of Pennington, NJ; grandchildren who knew him as Pop Pop, Ian, Zakkery, Cheyenne, Emily, Casey, Anthony, Andrew, and Sadie; many nieces and nephews who knew him as Uncle Jimmy, and his former wife and mother of his children, Teresa Bologna of Myrtle Beach, SC. You are invited to visit with James's family and friends for a church service at 11A.M. on July 17, 2021 at Living Hope Community Church, 22H West Route 313, Perkasie, PA 18944.
