James John Gregorec, 77, of Quakertown, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. He was born on October 17, 1948, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to the late Helen (Horvath) and Louis Gregorec.

James grew up in Allentown, where he learned the grocery business at a young age through his involvement with the Allentown Farmers Market. He was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and went on to attend Saint Joseph's University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Grocery Marketing.

Following his education, James built a long and respected career in the grocery industry. For many years, he was an owner and operator of Shop Well Stores throughout the Lehigh Valley. He also played an important role in the Lehigh Wholesale Grocery Company, a cooperative that supported local grocers from the 1940s through the 1980s. In addition, he was the owner of Family Food Market in Catasauqua.

Above all else, James was devoted to his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Bonita Alice (Burns) Gregorec, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage until her passing in 2021. A dedicated father, James was deeply involved in his son Matthew's life, serving as a Little League baseball coach, basketball coach, and a constant presence at all of Matthew's activities.

James was also a lifelong and devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers.

He is survived by his son, Matthew Gregorec; his sister, Ellen Potter; and several nieces, nephews, and many loving family members and friends.

A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at a later date.
