Jeanne B. Gross

Jeanne B. Gross, 87, of Quakertown, PA, died on January 22, 2026, at LifeQuest Nursing Center. Born in Allentown, PA, Jeanne was the beloved daughter of the late Dr. John J. Bernhard and the late Hilda Bernhard (Miller). She was an only child.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her devoted husband, Lamar Gross, with whom she shared 60 loving years of marriage. Their enduring partnership was the foundation of a life filled with family, dedication, and love.

Jeanne graduated from Allentown High School in 1956 and went on to attend Penn State University from 1956 to 1958, where she studied to become a kindergarten teacher. It was during her time at Penn State that she met Lamar, who was a fellow student. Their friendship quickly grew into a lifelong love, and they soon began their family together.

Jeanne devoted many years to raising her children, proudly serving as a stay-at-home mother and caregiver. Later, she returned to the workforce and was employed by Apparel Affiliates, Inc. from 1980 until 1989.

A talented piano player, Jeanne had a deep appreciation for music. She especially enjoyed attending her children’s school band concerts, community events and band concerts in Quakertown and Allentown, and symphony performances, which brought her great joy throughout her life.

Jeanne was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, PA, a congregation with deep family ties, as her grandfather, George Bernhard, had served as a pastor there.

Jeanne will be dearly missed by her children, daughter Terry Edelman (Randy), daughter Kelly Randolph (John), and son Andrew Gross; along with her extended family members and friends.

All are invited to visit with Jeanne’s family on Thursday, January 29th, from 10:00am ~ 11:00am, located at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, Ltd. 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951. (215-536-3343) A funeral service will begin at 11:00am, followed by a graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1500 Airport Rd, Allentown, PA 18109.
