Kathleen Ruth Umstead, 78, of Quakertown, PA, passed away on September 14th, 2026, at LifeQuest Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sellersville, PA, Kathleen was the daughter of the late James W. Hager and the late Muriel J. (Utter) Hager.
Kathy attended Pennridge High School and graduated in 1965
Kathy began working at Bucks County Bank as a bank teller. Over the years, she took college courses, and advanced into the role of bank manager, working for several different financial institutions. She finished her full-time working career at Farm and Home oil company, where she worked in the financial department. Upon reaching retirement age, she wanted to continue working and got a job at Giant Food Market in Quakertown. She loved interacting with the staff and customers there and continued to work there until she was physically unable.
Later in life she went on a cruise with her family and fell in love with the adventure. Although she only was able to go on two cruises, she always said that it was an experience she’d always treasure.
Family was everything to Kathy. She had great joy every time she would be visited by her Children, Grand Children, and Great Grand Children. She loved her family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them.
She will be remembered by her family for her wit, sense of humor, and devotion to family.
Kathy will be dearly missed by her son, Kevin Woulfe(Christy); her grandchildren, Taylor Counihan(Ryan), Kyle Woulfe(Abby), Meghan Cupstid(Paul-Semper Fi) , Katelyn Walter(TJ), and Jessica Snively; her great-grandchildren, Ronan, Lachlan, Cooper, Madden; her sister, Linda Johnson (and her late husband, Ray); along with her extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was also predeceased by her Brother, Richard Hager
Kathleen never desired a large funeral event, so the family has decided to host an informal dinner to celebrate her life and spend time with family and friends. This will take place on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026, from 6:00 ~ 8:00pm, located at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, Ltd. 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951. (215-536-3343)
Kathy wouldn’t want people to be uncomfortable, so please feel free to wear casual clothes for the gathering.
