Lamar Gross

Lamar S. "Omar" Gross, 83, of Richland Twp., died July 26 at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown. Born August 4, 1934, he was the son of the late Paul and Carrie (Hottle) Gross. He was the husband of Jeanne (Bernhard) Gross for the past 60 years. He earned a Doctorate degree from Penn State University and was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and the Penn State Alumni Association. He was also an industrial arts teacher for Log College Middle School and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Andrew J. Gross of Cleveland, OH; daughters, Terry wife of Randy Edelman of Quakertown and Kelly wife of John Randolph of Orange, VA; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Raymond Gross and a sister, Stella Ackerman. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Road; Quakertown. A calling hour from 9-10:00 a.m. will precede the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1500 Airport Road, Allentown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Quakertown Band, 112 N. Hellertown Ave.; Quakertown, PA 18951.
