Margaret Katherine (Koritko) Oczki, age 78, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 22, 2026. She was the wife of the late Martin Oczki, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Martin Paul Koritko and the late Norma Jean (Steur) Candy.
Marge grew up in Philadelphia and was the oldest of her siblings. She and her brother Marty lost their father when she was 5 years old. Her mother later remarried and when she was 13, Russell Candy was born. Marge was over the moon with excitement to have a new little brother. Her stepfather passed before Russell was born, and Marge took on a motherly role with both her brothers.
Marge graduated from Northeast High School in 1966. She briefly worked for Prudential Insurance Company before starting her family.
She met her husband through her best friend Linda, as Martin was her paper boy. Marge had an immediate crush on him, and the two began dating when she was just 15 years old, got engaged at 18 years old, married at 19 years old. They briefly resided in Florida while Martin was in the Air Force, and returned to Philadelphia to raise their family. They welcomed their first daughter, Christine Marie in 1969, followed by Kimberly Anne in 1971.
Throughout her life, Margaret referred to herself as a “Domestic Engineer” and took great pride in taking care of her family and home. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, Doo-wop music, painting, bowling and cleaning. Yes cleaning, as she loved to keep an immaculate home. She and her husband both loved attending concerts and the theater. She enjoyed decorating the house for every holiday and hosting holiday dinners, creating special memories and traditions for her family.
Marge spent many weekends on a sailboat with her husband, Martin, and their family. She was his “first mate” and they enjoyed sailing, racing and socializing with their boating friends. When her grandsons came along, she loved spoiling them. Marge and Marty loved taking Nick and Owen to museums, shows, trips and Iron Pigs games. She also attended their baseball and football games and became quite the sports fan in her later years.
She resided at The Willow assisted living, Macungie Pa for the past 2 1/2 years where she became a social butterfly. She enjoyed bingo, trips and the music and entertainment they offered there. Her favorite was the Elvis Presley impersonator and she also loved watching The Game Show Network.
She will be remembered and missed for her quick wit, no filter personality, dedication to her family, and the way she lit up when she heard her favorite music. When you were with Marge you knew you were in for some good laughs.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Christine Piperato and Kim Pinkerton; and her grandsons which were the light of her life, Nicholas and Owen Pinkerton; and her sister-law, Barb Simon. She is the sister of the late Martin Koritko, Jr. and late Russell Candy.
