Mark W. Gerhart

Mark W. Gerhart, age 64, of Pennsburg, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Mark was the loving husband of Lee Ann Gerhart (Schimpf), with whom he shared 24 years together, including 16 years of marriage. Born and raised in Quakertown, he was the son of Bebe Gerhart (Stever) and the late Wayne Gerhart.

Before graduating from Quakertown High School, he was an athlete participating in several sports. After his graduation in 1979, he started racing bicycles competitively.

Mark was a plumber for over 45 years, including the last nearly 30 years with BKG Company in Telford. It was a skilled trade he genuinely enjoyed and took great pride in. Over the course of his career, he worked on many commercial and residential projects, ensuring each project was completed with care and attention to detail. He became known for his unique ability to diagnose complex problems and find practical solutions. He truly believed in a job well done.

Outside of work, Mark was an avid NASCAR fan who traveled to different tracks to enjoy races in person or he would watch them on TV. He was formerly a social member of The Quakertown Moose Lodge, as well as Red Hill Fire Company. Mark had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor, known for his off-the-wall comments, unexpected jokes, and memorable "Markie-isms." Mark enjoyed being at home, but he always made the most of the time he spent with family and friends.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mark is survived by his three children: daughter, Danielle Murphy (Gerhart) and her husband, Michael; daughter, Jessica Gerhart; and stepdaughter, Michelle Miller (Sargent) and her husband, Joshua. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Madelyn Murphy, Jameson Murphy, Arianna "Lo" Miller, Leanna Miller, and Emma Miller. Mark is also survived by his sister, Karen Sutton and her husband, Carl; nieces, Samantha and Natalie; as well as his mother-in-law, Winnie Lelli; brothers-in-law, Rick Schimpf and Anthony Lelli; and sister-in-law, Andrea Wright.

You are invited to visit with Mark's family and friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Naugle Funeral and Cremation Service, 135 West Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951. His life celebration will follow at 2:00 pm. The family invites guests to dress casually or wear something that reminds them of Mark.
