Nancy E. Yarmush, 87, of Douglassville, PA, passed away on April 26, 2025, at Reading Hospital. Born in Richlandtown, PA, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Allen Heimbach and the late Elsie (Crouthamel) Heimbach. Nancy attended Quakertown High School and later received her GED from Mitchell Community College. Nancy was the wife of Robert Yarmush, together they shared 19 loving years of marriage.
Nancy lived a vibrant and full life. In her younger years, she was a gifted performer who found joy in ballet and tap dancing, roller skating, ice skating, and even performing on the trapeze. Her adventurous spirit and love of movement never left her. Nancy was known in the Richland Town Bugle and Drum Core, she was the only girl that twirled the fire baton.
Later in life, Nancy was proud to earn her Certified Nursing Assistant license and serve her community through her work at Iredell Hospital. She found great fulfillment in caring for others. In her leisure time, she loved fishing, dancing, bingo, and trying her luck at the casinos alongside her devoted spouse, Robert.
Above all, Nancy was devoted to her family. She cherished every moment spent with them and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting memories.
In addition to her husband, Robert, Nancy will be dearly missed by her children, Tracy Carmer (predeceased by her spouse, George Carmer), Scott Ruth, Wilson Ruth (spouse Kristy Ruth), and Dean Ruth (spouse Angie Ruth); her grandchildren, from Tracy: Melissa Osmun, Stephanie Herr (spouse Daniel Herr), Ashley Brunner (spouse Michael Brunner), and step-grandchildren, George Carmer IV (spouse Jessica Carmer), and Kimberly Carmer; from Scott: Jordan and Zachary Ruth; from Wilson: Kammie Harris (spouse Richard Harris), and Kestler Ruth (spouse Hannah Ruth); and from Dean: Fallon Waldrop (spouse Jonathan Waldrop), Tyler Ruth, and Madison Ruth; step-grandchildren, Derek Yarmush, Kyle Yarmush, Alex Mell and Casey Mell; her stepchildren, Nadine Clark (spouse Michael Clark), Robert Yarmush (spouse Terry Yarmush), and Christine Mell; she was also blessed with 19 great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy; her brother, Larry Heimbach (spouse Pamela Heimbach); along with her extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her siblings, Alan Heimbach Junior, Eleanor Shearer, and Betty Lou Jakoby and her grandson, Elias Carmer.
A private family celebration will be held in Nancy’s honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to Nancy’s heart.
