Patricia Ann Hackney, lovingly known as “Patsy,” age 76, of Quakertown Center, passed away peacefully on June 29th at St. Luke’s Upper Bucks. Born to the late Elmer A. Weaver Jr. and the late Tillie S. (Rothrock) Weaver, Patsy grew up in Steinsburg, Pennsylvania, and attended Quakertown Community High School. From an early age, she had a deep love for music—especially Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash—and she enjoyed dancing, even attending Miss Cindy’s School of Dance for a short time.
In her younger years, she could often be found enjoying the Quakertown Farmers Market or spending time with those she loved. Patsy was known for her vibrant personality—she was outspoken, fiercely loyal, and had a heart of gold. She never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Patsy worked for many years at the Nockamixon State Park Boat Marina before dedicating herself fully to her greatest roles: a homemaker, devoted wife, and loving mother. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also found deep companionship in her many friends at Quakertown Center, where she touched the lives of many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 20 years, Leon Ernest Hackney, affectionately known as Buddy, who passed on January 3, 1996. We take comfort in knowing that they are now reunited.
Patsy is survived by her children, Christopher Michael Lee Hackney (Katie Cherba) and Leigh Ann Favors (Thomas Favors); her adored grandchildren: Treanna Leigh Hackney, Ada Adrianna Favors, Camille Leigh Hackney, Sadie Ann Hackney, and Savannah Cherba; and a loving host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is also survived by her siblings: Evelyn Gerhart (late Paul), Sandra Buerhle (late John), Arthur Weaver, Jayne Herman (Cletus), Katie Bleam (Michael), Sharon Reinhard, Kenneth Weaver (Kathy), Deborah Harpster (William Stewart), Andrea Loux (Craig), and sister-in-law RuthAnn Weaver.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Elsie Carver, and her brother, Martin Weaver.
Patsy will be remembered for her laughter, her kindness, her fierce love for her family, and her ability to bring people together. She will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew her.
