Stephen W. Gieser, 83, of Quakertown, passed away on December 30, 2025. He was born in Garrett Park, MD on August 4, 1942 to the late Louis and Ilah (Case) Gieser. He was the loving husband of the late Marie Theresa (Kaufman) Gieser for 54 years
Stephen (known as Steve, Dad or Pop) lived a life defined by devotion to family, quiet service, and genuine kindness. He attended the University of Maryland, where he met the love of his life and future wife. Together, they built a life rooted in partnership, family, and shared purpose.
Stephen and his wife began their married life in Greenbelt, Maryland, later living in University Park, Maryland, Cincinnati, Ohio, Derwood, Maryland, and Chestertown, Maryland. In his later years, Stephen settled in Quakertown, Maryland, so he could remain close to his wife while she resided in a nursing home. He stayed devotedly near her until her passing, a testament to the depth of his love and commitment.
Professionally, Stephen spent his career in the laboratory equipment sales and manufacturing industry. In the 1980s, he took the entrepreneurial step of starting his own company, a venture that became a family affair over the years. His wife and children each contributed in various roles, creating not just a business, but a shared family endeavor built on trust and mutual respect.
Stephen had a lifelong love of sports, especially baseball, and took great joy in watching his children and grandchildren play. He enjoyed playing tennis, paddle ball, sailing, birdwatching, and spending time outdoors on long walks. Wherever he lived, he served faithfully in his local church, offering his time and talents with humility and dedication.
He was known for his great sense of humor and infectious laugh, which came out most fully when he was with his brothers. Above all, Stephen loved his daughter, sons, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter with his whole heart. In business, among friends, and within his family, he was consistently known for his kindness, warmth, and steady presence.
Stephen is survived by his children Alex Gieser (Mary Ann), Sarah Price (Seth), and Andrew Gieser (Lisa); grandchildren Chase, Ilah, Audrey, Asher, Chloe, Rylan, Benjamin, Visakha, and Brinda; great granddaughter Eden; and many other loving family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents; wife; and brothers Ben Gieser and Jim Gieser.
Stephen will be laid to rest at St. Paul’s Parish, Kent near his hometown Chestertown, MD, at a later date.
