Wayne Allen Knechel

Wayne Allen Knechel, 76, of Quakertown, passed away on April 12, 2026. He was born in Perkasie on January 8, 1950 to the late Paul and Anna (Harner) Knechel. Wayne was the loving husband of the late Mary Jane (Wenhold) Knechel for 44 years until her passing in 2012. He worked for the bulk of his life in the steel industry, and in the last few years as a janitor. Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to watch the Eagles and Phillies and was happy to see the birds get one more Super Bowl ring before he passed. Wayne was a great family man, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Wayne is survived by his children Dwayne Knechel, Heather Schaar (Jamie), and Stacy McMain (Matthew); grandchildren Kimberly, Julia, and Stephanie; 1 great grandson on the way; siblings Patricia Gross and Janet Rinehimer; and many other loving family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents; wife; and brother Donald Knechel.

All are invited on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 to a graveside service at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, 910 Allentown Rd., Sellersville, PA 18960 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wayne's name can be made to the American Heart Association.
