William F. Lewis, 80, died Saturday evening, May 1st, in his home surrounded by his wife and three children. He would have celebrated his 81st birthday on June 3. He was the son of the late George and Anna (Beringer) Lewis and husband of Joan (Slotter) Lewis. They would have been married 58 years on May 17th. He was a custom home builder for 46 years in the Bucks and Lehigh counties, retiring in 1994. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on board the aircraft carrier USS Palau during the pre Korean conflict, a life time member of the Souderton Legion, Post 234, Past president of the former Quakertown Kiwanis club in 1967 and a life time member of the Paletown Rod and Gun Club. He was a avid hunter and fisherman, loving the outdoors and wildlife. He is survived by three children, Susan and life partner Robert Trumbauer of Coopersburg, Thomas and wife Margaret of Quakertown, James of East Greenville, three grandchildren, Lindsey and Jason Marshall of Phila., Jacqueline and Kyle Lewis of Quakertown, three step grandchildren, Tyler, Dustin and Maggie of Quakertown and one great grandchild, Piper Quinn Marshall of Phila.; two sisters, Edna Stroebel of Allentown, Sylvia of Denver, Colorado, two brothers, Franklin of Coopersburg and George of Quakertown. Services will be held 12:00 noon Friday, May 7th t the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N. Ambler St., Quakertown. Visitation: 11:00-12:00 noon on Friday.
