Documentary Screening: Alternate Endings: Six New Ways to Die in America

Directors and producers Matthew O'Neil and Perri Peltz visit six families across the country, almost all of which have a baby boomer member with a terminal illness. Each participant has decided on unorthodox way to honor their relationship with the end. These options range from celebrations of life, "living" wakes, green burials, the controversial medical aid in dying, and space burial - shooting the dead's ashes into space via rocket.
The documentary is one hour long. We will screen the film from 6:30-7:30 and will have a half hour of discussion afterwards.

In October, join us for a "death cafe style" discussion group.
No agenda, no set topics - just small groups of people sharing their experiences, thoughts, challenges and questions as they relate to death and dying. The conversations are as varied as the group you're in!
In November, learn more about the simplest advance directive or "living will" there is an use it on behalf of yourself or someone else!
On Monday, November 13th, join us for a Five Wishes Advanced Directive Workshop. As America's most frequently used living will, Five Wishes is presented in easy to understand language to help you express your wishes in areas that matter most - the personal, emotional and spiritual as well as the medical and legal. Five Wishes provides a means to legally document a health care surrogate, choses for medica treatment, comfort and care wishes, as well as what you want your loved ones to know. Following a presentation, everyone present will receive their own copy of the Five Wishes form and can fill it out at the workshop or at home.
